  • Interviews!

I just got back from my interview!  It is nice to finally interview at a local school!  The school is only 1.9 miles from my house!  Much closer than last year.  My fingers are crossed and I hope to get that call!  Time will tell!

The boys started taking gymnastics this week and are having a great time with it! Brandon was very hesitant but the next day he was ready to go back.  He can even do a backwards somersault all by himself! Ben loves to walk on the balance beam and can do so by himself!  This is a beam that is about 3 feet in the air!  Not too bad!  They start swimming lessons in a couple of weeks as well.  They can't wait for that!

Brian hopefully will get to work thirds in the near future!  He is excited about it and I think it will work wonderfully when we are all back in school this August.

  • Summer

We recently bought a Wii game system and absolutely love it!  My  favorite game is Indiana Jones!  It is very addicting though!  I guess my brother got one for his birthday!  We first played it at Daniel's house and the boys really like the boxing!  We bought one numchuck and then our dog chewed up the cord!  We got another one and it is wireless, no way it can be chewed through!  Our boys really like the Diego game and it is amazing how quickly they pick up on things.  I look forward to playing it with the boys!  Brian is really good at the bowling and so is Brandon.  Ben is excellent at the golf!  Go figure!  It is definitely worth the money.

  • Time Keeps on Ticking Away!

It has been a while since I last updated, but I have been extremely busy! The boys just celebrated their 5th birthday.  I can't believe that next year they will be in school!  I keep thinking that when they were little I wanted them to grow up a little!  Now that they have grown up a little I wish they would slow down!  Here are some pictures of them exercising!  My brother & his wife sent them some magnets and they improvised and made dumb bells!  Before I know it, they will be working out with real dumb bells!

I have a job as well!  I am a 5th grade teacher at Carroll Elementary School!  I love it so far!  The first year is rough though!  I honestly feel that in a couple of years it will be a little easier!  I have one class that is my homeroom and their are 21 students.  The throughout the day I teach four different sections Language Arts!  I really like it but find that most students DO NOT enjoy writing!  Go figure, I am not sure I did at that age!  When I think about 5th grade, I remember Mrs. Martin at Pittsboro Elementary School!  I had just changed to a new school and it was a year full of new adventures, kinda like it is now: what a God wink!  I REALLY like the kids and the school; we are considering moving closer next year.  It takes me 45 min. to get there once I drop the boys off at daycare!  Time will tell!

Here are some Jack-o-lantern pictures as well!  I must tell you that Branon wanted the biggest one and he got that!   I never realized how much harder they are to carve because the walls seem thicker!

  • Power of Words

It is amazing how wor ds can haunt a person!

I attended a high school graduation party this past weekend!  It was great to see this person graduate!  She is a sweet girl and one full of love.  When she was in grade school there were teachers who said she would never graduate!  Well, they were wrong!  She did graduate this past weekend.  If she had listened to these teachers she would have given up!

Duck at graduationWhen I was in my first marriage, my husband told me that I was not smart enough to go school!  I believed him, why I don't know!  I gave up my dream of wearing a black gown just to please him.  I chose to listen to his words rather than my own words.  I am happy to say that this past May I graduated from Purdue University and I got to wear that black gown AND I did so on the Dean's list with semester honors for seven semesters!  I knew I was smart enough, I just never gave myself credit!

Words are extremely powerful!  Watch what you say AND how you say them!  Use your words to uplift and not destroy!  It is no wonder that the Bible says "Their tongue is a sharp sword" (Psalm 57:4).
